Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active Colorado law license.
• Minimum three (3) years of litigation experience in a law firm.
• Experience handling insurance-related litigation: coverage disputes, personal injury, premises liability, bad faith, first/third-party claims.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Experience drafting dispositive motions.
• Experience appearing in Colorado state and federal courts.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational and case management abilities.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense litigation from pre-suit through trial and appeal.
• Represent carriers and self-insured organizations in complex first/third-party litigation.
• Investigate liability, evaluate claims, and develop litigation strategies.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate reps.
• Draft dispositive motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Prepare detailed insurance coverage opinions and analyses.
• Appear before Colorado courts for hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials.
• Collaborate with clients on strategy, risk analysis, and case management.

This full-time opportunity is designed for an accomplished litigation attorney with a proven background in insurance defense, coverage analysis, and complex civil litigation.

The successful candidate will manage sophisticated litigation matters involving insurance coverage disputes, personal injury, premises liability, bad faith litigation, and first- and third-party claims. This role offers substantial courtroom responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to independently manage cases from initial evaluation through trial and appeal while working alongside an experienced litigation team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense litigation matters from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal.
• Represent insurance carriers and self-insured organizations in complex first party and third-party litigation.
• Investigate liability, evaluate claims, and develop litigation strategies that align with client objectives.
• Conduct and defend depositions involving parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.
• Draft dispositive motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, discovery responses, and appellate briefs.
• Prepare detailed insurance coverage opinions and legal analyses.
• Conduct Examinations Under Oath (EUOs) when appropriate.
• Appear before Colorado state and federal courts for hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials.
• Collaborate with clients regarding litigation strategy, risk analysis, settlement recommendations, and case management.
• Maintain exceptional legal writing, research, and case documentation while managing multiple active matters.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Colorado.
• Minimum three (3) years of litigation experience within a law firm environment.
• Demonstrated experience handling insurance-related litigation, including:
  • Coverage disputes
  • Personal injury litigation
  • Premises liability
  • Bad faith claims
  • First party and third-party insurance claims
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Experience drafting dispositive motions.
• Experience appearing in Colorado state and federal courts.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational and case management abilities.
• Comfortable utilizing legal technology and litigation management software.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

HireNow Package

Compensation: $125,000-185,000 annually (based on experience)
