Job summary

Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking a Claims Service Representative in Arkansas. The role involves reviewing, investigating, negotiating and settling claims that do not require field visits, and communicating findings clearly to claimants and policyholders.

You will interpret policies, determine coverage, set reserves and maintain detailed case notes while building professional relationships with teammates, agents and medical/legal professionals as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and arrive at decisions through sound, logical reasoning to handle more complex claims.
• Excellent phone skills required as approximately 50% of time will be spent on the phone.
• Must be PC literate and able to effectively use our systems. Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle assigned claims involving multi-line insurance coverage that do not require field investigation.
• Investigate the facts of the loss, interpret the policy and determine coverage and liability.
• Determine the value of lost property and assist in setting reasonable reserves.
• Prepare detailed and organized running notes, written reports and documentation according to procedures.
• Maintain a service-oriented attitude and professional relationships with coworkers, agents, claimants and others.
