Job summary

Travelers in Massachusetts is seeking applicants for its Claim Intern program. You will receive structured onboarding to Travelers systems, gain exposure to personal and business claims of basic to moderate complexity, and learn to investigate, negotiate and resolve claims thoroughly with clear communication.

You will observe experienced professionals through desk and ride-alongs, work with a mentor to develop claims knowledge, and complete meaningful project work while building customer service

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Majors include Business Administration, Liberal Arts with business focus, Risk Management and Insurance, or related.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Responsibilities

• Structured onboarding to Travelers systems.
• Exposure to personal and business claims of basic to moderate complexity.
• Learn and apply investigation, negotiation and resolution strategies for claims.
• Estimate damages and determine applicable coverages with clear communication.
• Observe work of experienced professionals through desk and ride-alongs.
• Work with a mentor to develop claims knowledge.
• Develop customer service, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Complete challenging and meaningful project work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
