Job summary

Travelers is offering a Claims Intern position designed to provide hands-on experience in personal and business insurance claims. You will undergo structured onboarding, learn to estimate damages, determine applicable coverages and guide clients through the claims process with strong communication skills.

You will observe experienced professionals, work with a mentor, and complete meaningful project work as you explore a career in claims.

Qualifications

• Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Suggested college majors include Business Administration, Liberal Arts (with business focus preferred), Business Management, Risk Management and Insurance or a business-related discipline.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Structured onboarding to Travelers systems and protocols.
• Exposure to Personal and Business Insurance claims of basic to moderate complexity.
• Develop knowledge of estimating damage and determining applicable coverages.
• Assist customers through the claims process with strong communication.
• Observe the work of seasoned Claim Professionals via desk and ride-alongs.
• Work with a manager/mentor to build claims knowledge through core assignments.
• Complete challenging and meaningful project work.
