Job summary

Argo Group in Chicago is seeking an Account Manager to support the casualty underwriting function. You will assist with customer service, processing underwriting transactions, data research, and analysis, ensuring service excellence for internal and external partners.

The role operates on-site at the Chicago office, with required interactions with brokers and underwriters, and involvement in rating setup, binders, and quotes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree preferred.
• General knowledge of commercial insurance strongly preferred.
• Must function effectively in a time-sensitive, high-volume environment.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing direction and priorities.
• Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong oral, written, organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with agents/brokers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process account inquiries, endorsements, and changes within service standards.
• Follow guidelines, procedures, and authorities to ensure accurate processing and compliance.
• Perform underwriting file analysis to identify forms and endorsements.
• Support underwriters to enhance division performance using systems and guidelines.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with underwriters, customers, and partners.
• Set up rating, issue binders, and send quotes on behalf of underwriters.
• Interact with brokers for follow-up and account inquiries.
• Review inspection reports and follow up on observations affecting coverage.
• Participate in projects and attend broker visits as needed.
