Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Instrumentation Field Engineer to plan, coordinate, and oversee instrumentation and controls on the New Albany project in Ohio. You will ensure work meets specifications, safety standards, and schedules, acting as the main technical interface across engineering, construction, quality, and commissioning.

The role requires strong knowledge of instrumentation, DCS/PLC/SCADA, and field installation practices, with responsibility for planning, look-ahead planning, and risk

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, analyzers, control systems and wiring.
• Understanding of DCS, PLC, SCADA, networking and Fieldbus architectures.
• Experience interpreting instrument indexes, loop diagrams and vendor docs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams and vendor docs.
• Review install practicality, sequencing and field execution feasibility.
• Coordinate instrumentation scope with electrical, mechanical and commissioning.
• Track progress, report instrumentation status and forecast completion.
• Support turnover, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
