Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer II in Sweeny, TX to design, specify, install and improve instrumentation systems across refinery operations. You will work with operations, maintenance, project and engineering partners to deliver reliable measurements and safe, efficient performance.

You will have opportunities to deepen instrumentation expertise while working independently and providing technical guidance.

Qualifications

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
3+ years of engineering experience directly related to instrumentation, analyzer systems, control systems, or related refinery/manufacturing equipment.
Must be willing and able to obtain TWIC.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 5%.
Willing to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to transport articles up to 50 pounds and work near high-pressure equipment.

Responsibilities

Design and evaluate instrumentation solutions for process measurements and testing.
Develop and maintain instrument indexes, datasheets, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and installation details.
Troubleshoot measurement and instrument performance issues and verify results.
Support selection and installation of field instruments, analyzers, and related equipment.
Guide instrumentation installations, calibration, testing, commissioning and startup.
Deliver small- to medium-scale instrumentation projects within program plans.
Collaborate to improve instrument reliability and reduce failures.
Collect and analyze instrument and process data for continuous improvement.
