Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking a Senior Engineer I, Mechanical, Projects in Houston to act as the owner’s engineer for fixed equipment and piping within the Refining Projects organization. You will review mechanical deliverables, verify designs meet standards, and support risk-driven decisions across FEL to closeout.

The role requires strong knowledge of fixed equipment and piping, collaboration with EPC vendors, and the ability to mentor engineers while traveling up to 30% domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 7+ years of petrochemical, refining, or related industry experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide guidance on mechanical deliverables from EPC contractors and vendors.
• Assess design basis, process conditions, and execution strategies for compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with inspection, operations, and project teams to integrate scope.
• Support field execution and maintain focus on safety, operability, reliability, cost, and schedule.
• Mentor junior engineers and EPC personnel on mechanical project execution.
