Job summary

Amador Water Agency is seeking anInstrumentation/Electrical Technician to maintain and repair electrical systems across water and wastewater facilities, including plant equipment, lighting, and security systems.

You will troubleshoot motors, control and distribution systems, and install wiring, pneumatic and hydraulic components while following NEC and safety protocols. Field experience and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; supplemented with specialized training in electrical theory, electronics, instrumentation or closely related field.
• 3 years of experience in installation, construction, repair and maintenance of facilities as an electrician or electrical technician.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine electrical inspection, maintenance and installation of lighting, outlets and general office equipment.
• Maintains production equipment and systems.
• Diagnoses and repairs motors, motor control and power distribution systems.
• Fabricates and installs conduit, wiring, enclosures and electrical/electronic equipment.
• Inspects and maintains electrical/electronic pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Works on computer wiring, fire alarm and security systems, phone and telecommunications equipment.
• Operates 5-480 volt AC/DC power systems, generators and multi-phase motors.
• Uses test equipment to verify circuit integrity and safety.
• May perform functions assigned to the Instrumentation/Electrical Technician as needed.
• Proficient with computer systems and industrial/office software applications.
• Follows Electrical Safety Codes and NEC; complies with CalOSHA and ArcFlash requirements; adheres to safety procedures.
• Subject to 24-hour emergency call back and may require overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Works independently with outside contractors and Agency personnel.
