Job summary

Amador Water Agency seeks an Instrumentation/Electrical Technician to operate, install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic equipment across water treatment systems. The role covers SCADA, PLCs, HMI, and related controls, with care for safety and compliance.

You will work under supervision at lower levels and independently at senior levels, conducting maintenance, system integration, and on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment and systems used in water/wastewater operations.
• Familiarity with SCADA, PLC, and related control systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs electrical and electronic equipment.
• Troubleshoots, tests and maintains control systems including SCADA, PLCs and instrumentation.
• Performs load calculations, design support, and interfaces with vendors and internal teams.
• Operates and maintains hydroelectric generation facilities.
• Responds to emergencies during 24-hour on-call duties.
