Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Technician II to provide advanced work on pneumatic and electronic control systems ensuring reliable building operations. You will troubleshoot HVAC control systems, lead teams across maintenance disciplines, perform preventive maintenance, renovate and upgrade controls, and maintain accurate records and time reports.

A high school diploma or GED with five years journey-level experience is required; an associate degree

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• Five years of journey-level experience with pneumatic and DDC instrumentation and control systems.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and resolves issues with electronic and pneumatic controls systems to maintain HVAC comfort in university buildings.
• Leads work teams across maintenance disciplines to resolve complex control system problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance and calibrates controls and sensors to ensure energy-efficient operation.
