Job summary

University of Texas at Austin, Facilities Services, seeks a Building Controls & Commissioning Technician for a 40-hour week in Austin, TX. You will perform commissioning on HVAC systems, calibrate building automation equipment, and support energy programs.

You will gather data for retro-commissioning and help optimize sequences of operation across campus facilities. The role requires five years of journey-level experience with pneumatic and DDC systems and large commercial HVAC maintenance,

Qualifications

• Five years of journey-level experience with pneumatic and DDC instrumentation and control systems.
• Five years of experience in the maintenance, operation and repair of large commercial HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs commissioning activities on existing building HVAC, heating and cooling systems and calibrates building automation equipment.
• Plans and executes Test Adjusting and Balancing projects and records air flow and equipment data.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex HVAC issues with UT maintenance and energy groups.
• Interfaces with faculty, staff, engineers, vendors, and contractors to resolve building systems problems.
• Optimizes BAS programming and sequences of operation with engineers and energy managers.
• Uses drawings and specifications to plan projects and drafts reports and work orders.
