Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to maintain and operate hospital facility control systems, specializing in HVAC, electrical and pneumatic controls. The role emphasizes hands-on electrical exposure, field instrumentation, and strong project support within a healthcare setting.

Expect a daytime, Monday–Friday schedule with on-site responsibilities and potential on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Reads, draws and interprets electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and HVAC schematics, one line diagrams and control sequences of operations.
• Programs microprocessors for initial commissioning, tune of control loops and calibration of analog inputs.
• May install, troubleshoot and repair 120, 208, 240 and 480 volt controls and equipment per NEC guidelines.
• Investigates outages and maintains inventory and materials as needed.

Responsibilities

• Reads, draws and interprets electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and HVAC schematics and control sequences.
• Programs microprocessors for initial commissioning and calibration of inputs.
• Troubleshoots and repairs high-voltage controls per NEC guidelines.
• Maintains CMMS documentation and asset information.
• Investigates outages and supports energy optimization meetings.
