Job description

  • Troubleshoot and resolve electronic and pneumatic controls systems and component issues for HVAC comfort control in university buildings
  • Lead work teams across multiple maintenance disciplines to resolve complex technical control system problems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibrate electronic and pneumatic controls and sensors
  • Renovate and upgrade control systems to improve HVAC efficiency, building comfort, and energy conservation
  • Assist other shops, team members, and outside entities with shop goals and related key performance indicators
  • Provide timely and courteous customer service and keep supervisors updated on daily work order status
  • Research and recommend repair components and test equipment; create material lists and acquire materials
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, daily time reports, and system documentation
  • Gather building HVAC and mechanical field data to facilitate performance analysis and improvement
  • Participate in the On-Call Program
  • Attend staff meetings, safety training, and other meetings
  • Perform other related functions as assigned
Requirements
  • High school or GED
  • Five years of journey-level experience with the installation, repair, maintenance and operation of pneumatic and DDC instrumentation and control systems
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employee without sponsorship
  • Criminal background check required for selected applicant/finalist
  • May be required to pass a physical examination
  • May require tuberculosis screening and occasional use of a respirator
  • Must maintain acceptable driver rating if driving University vehicles
  • Required to operate an electronic device such as an iPhone, iPad, or laptop/desktop computer for time reporting and work management
  • Required materials: resume/CV, three work references with contact information including at least one supervisor reference, and letter of interest
