Job summary

Prime Controls is seeking an Instrumentation Technician II to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation used in large-scale industrial automation projects. You will assist with PLC, HMI programming, and documentation, and travel to customer sites as needed.

The role requires hands-on calibration, testing, and maintenance of control systems, with opportunities to work with engineers during startup and commissioning phases.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience as an instrumentation technician.
• Solid knowledge of AC/DC drives.
• Strong understanding of PID and control loops.
• Experience with PLCs and HMIs.
• Familiarity with Ethernet communications and connections.

Responsibilities

• Performs instrumentation and automation services, troubleshooting, calibration, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation functionality and I/O operation.
• Repairs instrumentation; calibrates with meters and tools.
• Sets up new instrumentation and calibrates specifications from schematics.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
• Assists with installation and maintenance projects for automating large industrial processes.
• Uses computerized equipment and software to perform testing and produce reports.
• Works with engineers testing and commissioning PLC systems.
• Travels to customer sites to provide services as required.
