Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Automation Technician II to support industrial automation projects across customer sites in Texas.
You will troubleshoot and repair electronic instrumentation, calibrate equipment, and assist with system integration including PLC and HMI programming, VFD setup, and hardware installation. The role involves interpreting diagrams, modifying PLC/HMI programs, and performing preventive maintenance on test apparatus and equipment while traveling to customer sites as
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in engineering, construction (AEC) or similar field.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related Bachelor’s discipline, related degree from a Technical College or equivalent Industrial controls experience.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret diagrams and communicate with customers to understand objectives.
- Modify PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.
- Modify HMI and develop small applications.
- Test the installed system to observe functionality and ensure programs work as designed.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware interface issues and diagnose problems.
- Travel to customer sites for instrumentation maintenance and calibration.
