Job summary

Prime Controls L.P. seeks an Automation Technician II to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation in large industrial processes. You will assist with system integration including calibrations, MCC troubleshooting, PLC/HMI programming modifications, and VFD setup, traveling to customer sites as needed.

The role requires reading diagrams, modifying PLC/HMI programs, and performing tests to ensure system functionality. A related engineering degree and experience in similar fields are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in engineering, construction (AEC) industry or similar field.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related Bachelor’s discipline, related degree from a Technical College or equivalent Industrial controls experience.

Responsibilities

• Read diagrams and communicate objectives with customers.
• Modify PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.
• Modify HMI and develop small applications.
• Test installed system functionality and verify programs work as designed.
• Respond to service calls to troubleshoot and repair programming and system failures.
