Job summary

Ambs Chemical Search LLC is seeking a Control Systems and Instrumentation Engineer to support a growing chemical plant. The role focuses on controls, instrumentation, and electrical needs with experience in DCS, PLC, HMI, and process historian systems.

You will design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware, develop control logic and operator interfaces, and drive upgrades and reliability programs. 7+ years in chemical/refining is required.

Qualifications

• BS EE and 7+ years of chemical or refining industry experience.
• Experience designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining control hardware.
• Ability to develop control logic, graphics, alarms, and operator interfaces for DCS/PLC/HMI systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware for DCS, PLC, HMI, process historian systems, and network systems.
• Develop and modify control logic, graphics, alarms, historian tags, and operator interfaces for DCS/PLC/HMI systems.
• Maintain control system backups, documentation, and configuration records.
• Implement control system upgrades, migrations, patches, hardware replacements, and other improvements to automation systems.
• Analyze process data and system performance to identify improvements in control, efficiency, quality, and reliability.
• Support commissioning, startup, and optimization of new equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and lead root cause investigations for corrective actions.
• Lead or support capital projects from concept to startup and closeout; develop scopes, specs, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Drive maintenance, testing, and reliability programs for controls, instrumentation, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting electrical equipment failures and power distribution issues.
• Participate in root cause investigations related to equipment failures and interruptions.

Provide technical support for the controls, instrumentation, and some electrical needs for a growing chemical plant. This is a stable international chemical company.

• Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware for DCS, PLC, HMI, process historian systems, and network systems.
• Develop and modify control logic, graphics, alarms, historian tags, and operator interfaces for DCS, PLC, HMI, and process historian systems.
• Maintain control system backups, documentation, and configuration records.
• Implement control system upgrades, migrations, patches, hardware replacements, and other improvements to automation systems.
• Analyze process data and system performance to identify and implement opportunities for improved process control, efficiency, product quality, and equipment reliability.
• Support commissioning, startup, and optimization of new equipment, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues and lead root cause investigations to identify corrective actions.
• Lead and/or support controls, instrumentation, and electrical capital projects from concept development through startup and project closeout.
• Develop project scopes, technical specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and equipment requirements.
