Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support design, development, and implementation of advanced control systems for manufacturing and process facilities. You will lead instrumentation, automation, and safety systems in high-tech environments.

You will develop P&IDs, select instruments, review vendor submittals, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant, safe operations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical engineering.
• EIT certification required or in progress.
• 6+ years of experience in industrial control systems engineering and design.
• Experience with PLC-based systems and industrial networks.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 and UL 508A codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.
• Design facility control systems, fire alarm, chemical controls, Toxic Gas Monitoring (TGM), and SCADA.
• Develop P&IDs, loop drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Size and select instruments and control devices; prepare data sheets.
• Review vendor submittals to ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Develop Sequence of Operation (SOO) documents.
• Present technical and business concepts to clients and internal teams.
