Job summary
Jacobs is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design and implement advanced control systems for complex manufacturing facilities. You will lead instrumentation, automation, and safety system projects in high-tech environments, collaborating across disciplines and global teams.
Ideal candidates have 6+ years in industrial controls, strong PLC/SCADA expertise, and familiarity with NFPA 70 and UL 508A.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited university.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- 6+ years in industrial control systems engineering and design.
- Working knowledge of PLC systems, industrial networks, cybersecurity, motor control and power distribution.
- Experience with PLC-based systems (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens).
- Understanding NFPA 70 and UL 508A codes.
Responsibilities
- Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.
- Design facility control systems, fire alarm systems, chemical controls, TGM, and SCADA.
- Develop P&IDs, loop drawings, and detailed wiring diagrams.
- Size and select instruments, control devices, and valves with data sheets.
- Review vendor submittals to ensure client requirements and codes are met.
- Initiate and develop Sequence of Operation (SOO) documents.
- Participate in client and internal team presentations.
