Job summary

Brunel in Midland, TX is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer III to support Facilities Engineering teams in the Midland Basin. You will conduct field walks, markup IC&E drawings, manage MOC routing, and perform other oil and gas IC&E activities.

Responsibilities include monitoring instrumentation and control systems, developing specifications, supervising installation and commissioning, and participating in area risk assessments and incident investigations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of ISA, NEC, API RP 551, and NFPA 70E standards.
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical drawings, and control narratives.
Experience with PLC, DCS, F&G, and protection system upgrades.

Responsibilities

Monitor instrumentation, electrical equipment, and control systems for safe operations.
Develop specifications for instrumentation and electrical systems.
Supervise installation and commissioning of IC&E equipment.
Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and CQAs.
Support incident investigations and MOC processes.
Identify opportunities and define project scopes of work.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Gather data from IC&E systems to improve performance.
Prepare IC&E deliverables (one-line diagrams, control narratives, wiring diagrams).
Provide support during plant shutdowns and modifications.
