Job summary

Brunel is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Lead – Commissioning to plan, coordinate, execute, and supervise all I&C pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for a major project. The role ensures systems are installed, tested, calibrated, and verified per project specs and industry standards.

The position requires 10–15 years of I&C experience with at least 5 years in a commissioning leadership role on large EPC projects, with strong DCS, PLC, SCADA, and field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10–15 years of Instrumentation & Control experience, with at least 5 years in a commissioning leadership role.
• Experience delivering commissioning and start-up activities on large EPC projects in heavy industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA, field instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
• Proven experience managing commissioning interfaces between engineering, construction, vendors, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, execute and supervise all I&C pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Develop and review I&C commissioning procedures, ITPs, method statements and test protocols.
• Coordinate activities with construction and project controls teams to align with schedule.
• Lead and supervise I&C technicians and contractors during calibration, loop checking, and functional testing.
• Validate control logic, interlocks, alarms, and cause-and-effect matrices; support FAT, SAT and integration efforts.
• Lead cold and hot commissioning, system start-up and ramp-up; ensure readiness and handover to operations.
• Ensure safety compliance and enforce PTW, LOTOTO and safe work practices.
