Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to support instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems for its liquid rocket engine test facilities based in Van Horn, TX. You will design panels, programs, and DAQ configurations, mentor technicians, and contribute to safety and performance in spaceflight testing.

The role demands hands-on engineering, project leadership, and ability to travel up to 50% with relocation support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 5–10 years designing electrical schematics and panel layouts with CAD.
  • 5–10 years PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley or Siemens).
  • Experience integrating instrumentation with data acquisition hardware.
  • Proficiency with electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiar with sensors and actuators used in industrial systems.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication; ownership mindset.
  • U.S. citizenship or appropriate residency status.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new tools and serve as SME for engine test stands.
  • Provide technical support for instrumentation on test stands and update harness/interface drawings.
  • Design, upgrade, and modify PLC programs for test stands.
  • Design electrical panels for instrumentation and controls at facilities.
  • Maintain and upgrade DAQ systems; configure and test DAQ hardware.
  • Coordinate instrumentation, data, and controls integration across test stands.
  • Perform additional tasks to ensure safe, efficient test operations.
