Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their operations team in a hybrid role. The position focuses on specification, design, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems essential for process automation and safety.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 4 years of experience in instrumentation and control, with strong PLC/DCS and SIS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 4 years of instrumentation and control experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation principles and technologies.
• Experience with PLC/DCS programming and configuration.
• Understanding of control loop tuning and process dynamics.
• Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) design and implementation.
• Proficiency with P&ID development and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities for a hybrid work environment.
• Experience with calibration and loop checking procedures.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, and select instrumentation for process applications.
• Develop and implement control strategies, including PID tuning and APC.
• Configure and program PLCs and DCS.
• Design and maintain SIS in accordance with IEC 61511 and standards.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues, finding root causes and solutions.
• Develop P&IDs and control narratives.
• Ensure systems comply with safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams during design, installation, and commissioning.
• Maintain documentation for instrumentation and control systems.
• Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance.
