Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Instrument and Controls startup engineer for the Thacker Pass project in Nevada. You will oversee precommissioning and commissioning planning, coordinating with management, engineering, and clients to ensure startup goals, schedules, and requirements are met.

Responsibilities include developing work packages, testing procedures, and startup plans, plus supervising and training client personnel as needed. Travel to site and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent with 10-13 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 7 years in precommissioning/commissioning/startup or operations; 2+ years in supervision.
• Thorough understanding of mining/extraction process equipment and control philosophies.
• Right to work in the U.S. or eligible for sponsored visa.
• Ability to travel to project sites and work in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrument and controls precommissioning and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, and clients on startup plans.
• Develop and manage startup procedures, test plans, and documentation.
• Prepare, award, and administer specialty subcontracts as needed.
• Provide on-the-job training to client personnel.
• Monitor schedule, budget, and punch-list resolution for startup.
