Job summary
Dyno Nobel, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Technician in Overland, MO to monitor and maintain the DeltaV control systems, perform firmware updates, and keep virus protection current. You will support legacy systems and participate in upgrade planning.
The role requires 5+ years in industrial automation, experience with DCS/PLC, DeltaV or ControlLogix, HMI config, ISA 84/IEC 61511 knowledge, and strong teamwork.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing or chemical plant environments.
- Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell Automation ControlLogix.
- Experience configuring HMI systems.
- Knowledge of ISA 84 / IEC 61511 safety standards.
- Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, or industrial databases.
- Knowledge of industrial networking.
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
Responsibilities
- Perform firmware updates and lifecycle management for DeltaV hardware.
- Support legacy system maintenance and upgrade planning.
- Perform operating system upgrades, service packs, patches, and fixes.
- Maintain virus protection and system security updates.
- Maintain network security and user management.
- Maintain control system configuration libraries and standards.
- Configure and maintain alarm attributes and logging systems.
- Develop and maintain control loop functional specifications.
- Monitor and improve control loop performance using Emerson Insight.
- Partner with E&I technicians to develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs.
- Use ValveLink to support outage planning and reduce unplanned downtime.

As the Instrumentation and Control Technician, you will consistently monitor and providemaintenance of the Control systems to ensure continued reliable operation. You will complete regular firmware updates and update virus protection software.

- Support alarm rationalization and system reliability
- Develop and maintain control loop functional specifications
- Prepare control strategy documentation and loop drawings using SAMA diagrams or logic block diagrams
- Monitor and improve control loop performance
- Utilize tools such as Emerson Insight to detect performance degradation and optimize loop performance
- Partner with E&I technicians to develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs
- Use monitoring tools such as ValveLink to support outage planning and reduce unplanned downtime
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field
- OR
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environment
- Experience supporting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or PLC systems
- Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell Automation ControlLogix
- Experience configuring HMI systems
- Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84 / IEC 61511)
- Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, or industrial databases
- Knowledge of industrial networking
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
