Job summary

Dyno Nobel seeks an experienced automation professional to support DeltaV control systems in a heavy industrial environment. You will perform firmware updates, lifecycle management, and software upgrades while maintaining system security and reliability.

You will collaborate with E&I technicians to optimize preventive maintenance and minimize downtime, leveraging ISA 84/IEC 61511 guidelines and SQL-based data tools.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering/Automation/Electrical Technology.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environments.
• Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell ControlLogix.
• Experience configuring HMI systems.
• Knowledge of ISA 84 / IEC 61511.
• Experience with SQL Server or MS Access.

Responsibilities

• Perform firmware updates and lifecycle management for DeltaV control system hardware.
• Upgrade DeltaV system software and keep security patches current.
• Maintain network security and user access on control systems.
• Configure and maintain alarm attributes and logging systems.

What You’ll Do

DeltaV System Hardware

• Perform firmware updates and lifecycle management for DeltaV control system hardware
• Support legacy system maintenance and upgrade planning

DeltaV System Software

• Perform operating system upgrades, service packs, patches, and fixes
• Maintain virus protection and system security updates

Application & Control System Management

• Maintain network security and user management
• Maintain control system configuration libraries and standards

Alarm Management

• Configure and maintain alarm attributes and logging systems
• Support alarm rationalization and system reliability

Control Loop Tuning

• Develop and maintain control loop functional specifications
• Prepare control strategy documentation and loop drawings using SAMA diagrams or logic block diagrams

Control System Performance

• Monitor and improve control loop performance
• Utilize tools such as Emerson Insight to detect performance degradation and optimize loop performance

Instrumentation & Reliability

• Partner with E&I technicians to develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs
• Use monitoring tools such as ValveLink to support outage planning and reduce unplanned downtime

What We’re Looking For:

• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field
  • OR
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems
• Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environment
• Experience supporting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or PLC systems
• Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell Automation ControlLogix
• Experience configuring HMI systems
• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84 / IEC 61511)
• Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, or industrial databases
• Knowledge of industrial networking
