Job summary

Dyno Nobel, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Technician to monitor and maintain DeltaV control systems and related hardware and software.

You'll perform firmware updates, operating system upgrades, and virus protection maintenance to ensure reliable operation in an industrial setting. The role emphasizes collaboration with E&I technicians, maintenance planning, and optimizing control loop performance to minimize downtime and improve process reliability in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years in industrial automation or control systems.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing or chemical plant environments.
• Experience supporting DCS/PLC systems and configuring HMI systems.
• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84 / IEC 61511).
• Experience with SQL Server or MS Access in industrial settings.
• Industrial networking knowledge and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform firmware updates and lifecycle management for DeltaV hardware.
• Maintain and upgrade legacy DeltaV systems and support planning.
• Upgrade operating systems, patches, and virus protection.
• Manage network security and user access for control systems.
• Configure and maintain alarm attributes and logging systems.
• Develop and maintain control loop specifications and drawings.
• Monitor control loop performance and optimize system efficiency.
• Coordinate with E&I technicians on preventive maintenance and outages.

Job Brief

As the Instrumentation and Control Technician, you will consistently monitor and providemaintenance of the Control systems to ensure continued reliable operation. You will complete regular firmware updates and update virus protection software.

*This position is located in Louisiana, Missouri* (About 40 minutes from Hannibal, Missouri*

What You'll Do

DeltaV System Hardware

• Perform firmware updates and lifecycle management for DeltaV control system hardware
• Support legacy system maintenance and upgrade planning

DeltaV System Software

• Perform operating system upgrades, service packs, patches, and fixes
• Maintain virus protection and system security updates

Application & Control System Management

• Maintain network security and user management
• Maintain control system configuration libraries and standards

Alarm Management

• Configure and maintain alarm attributes and logging systems
• Support alarm rationalization and system reliability

Control Loop Tuning

• Develop and maintain control loop functional specifications
• Prepare control strategy documentation and loop drawings using SAMA diagrams or logic block diagrams

Control System Performance

• Monitor and improve control loop performance
• Utilize tools such as Emerson Insight to detect performance degradation and optimize loop performance

Instrumentation & Reliability

• Partner with E&I technicians to develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs
• Use monitoring tools such as ValveLink to support outage planning and reduce unplanned downtime

What We're Looking For:

• Associate's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field
  • OR
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems
• Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environment
• Experience supporting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or PLC systems
• Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell Automation ControlLogix
• Experience configuring HMI systems
• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84 / IEC 61511)
• Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, or industrial databases
• Knowledge of industrial networking
