Job description

Teach Welding Technology courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend and design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in professional development; engage in college and community activities; promote the college's mission; develop and implement retention strategies; assist with graduate placement; attend graduation ceremonies; advise and register students; serve on college committees; promote institutional goals; and assist the department chair with administrative responsibilities.

Teaching may occur on any campus or via distance learning, and may be scheduled during days, nights, weekends, or a combination thereof.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching Performance: Present course materials effectively to facilitate learning.
  • Instructional Development: Develop, revise, and maintain courses and curriculum based on objectives and appropriate materials.
  • Instructional Management: Utilize office hours effectively, manage classrooms efficiently, and submit reports timely and accurately.
  • Student Advisement: Assist students in personal and professional development as applicable.
  • College and Community Service: Participate in college activities and promote the college through public service.
  • Professional Development: Engage in activities to develop and improve professional skills.

Qualifications include a Certificate or Associate Degree in Welding Technology and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Expertise in welding, print reading, and pipe welding is required.
