Northeastern Technical College is seeking a Welding Instructor to teach and develop quality course materials while advising students. This role requires a strong background in welding with a focus on practical skills in both classroom and lab settings, along with participation in college activities and committees. Job Responsibilities
To serve as instructor for the College, including duties of teaching, developing materials, advising students, and providing assistance to the administration through committees and other activities.
Associate Degree in Welding with five (5) years of welding experience or a one (1) year Diploma in Welding with eight (8) or more years of welding experience, working towards an Associate Degree. Proficiency in ARC, MIG, TIG, Flux Core, Pipe welding (high pressure), Gas welding, and Gas and plasma cutting is required. Preferred qualifications include AWS Certified Welding Inspector and teaching experience. A valid driver's license is required.
Knowledge of principles and procedures related to higher education, standard business practices, and college mission, goals, and objectives. Ability to supervise and coordinate professional staff activities, establish good relationships with alumni, businesses, students, faculty, and others. Demonstrated teaching abilities. Ability to work independently and discretely in teaching and advising roles.
The teaching environment includes classroom and lab settings, requiring local travel to business/industry and community campuses. Some short-term travel for professional meetings and overnight stays for professional development may be necessary. Teaching locations include partner high schools, state, federal, and juvenile correctional facilities, community campuses, and industry partners.
