The City Colleges of Chicago is seeking instructors for Continuing Education courses across various topics including Art, Music, Finance, and more. Instructors will be responsible for creating engaging learning environments and promoting student participation. This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to teach in various formats.
Compensation ranges from $35.00 to $150.00 per hour, based on course complexity and instructor experience. Excellent benefits including retirement plans and tuition reimbursement are also provided.

Continuing Education courses are short, focused courses offered for personal growth and professional development. We are currently seeking instructors to teach non‑credit, adult enrichment courses on various topics including Art, Music, Travel, Computers, Finance and Investment, Fitness and more. Most courses for adults meet once a week for three hours on a weekday evening or Saturday morning for 1–8 weeks. No academic credit is awarded. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face‑to‑face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats. Face‑to‑face courses will meet on the Harold Washington College campus. $35.00 per hour – $150.00 per hour. Pay rates for Continuing Education instructors are determined based on course complexity, subject area, instructor experience, market demand, and other relevant factors. Rates are competitive for the Chicago area and may vary for nationally recognized guest instructors or specialized programs. Final compensation will be confirmed at the time of appointment. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as other factors such as internal equity.
