Job summary

NCIA seeks an Instructional Systems Designer to develop eLearning content for NATO programs. The role involves needs analysis with SMEs, design of modules and assessments, and ensuring SCORM-compliant content across Moodle or similar LMS platforms.

Responsibilities include collaborating with clients, delivering storyboards, and evaluating course effectiveness, with international travel required 2–3 times per year.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as an instructional systems designer (within last 5 years).
• 3+ years’ experience in e-Learning development (within last 5 years).
• Experience communicating with clients, SMEs, and stakeholders throughout the instructional design process.
• Experience using state-of-the-art e-learning authoring tools to develop SCORM‑compliant content.
• Experience developing content within LMS platforms such as Moodle or equivalent.
• Portfolio demonstrating contributions to at least three e-learning projects with 1–3 representative storyboards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to conduct needs analysis across NATO nations and partners.
• Define clear, measurable learning objectives aligned with course goals.
• Design course structures with modules, lessons, and assessments.
• Develop instructional content from SME materials using ISD methodologies.
• Select instructional strategies for various learning styles.
• Design and implement pre-, formative, and summative assessments.
