Job summary

Alluvionic is currently seeking experienced applicants for an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) eLearning position to support the NATO HQ SACT CMDS contract. Location: Norfolk VA, remote and on-site with short notice. Contingent upon award of contract.

Qualifications

• MS/MA or BS/BA in Education and Training Development or related field with 3 years ISD experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ e-learning development experience (within last 5 years).
• Experience communicating with clients, SMEs and stakeholders throughout ISD process.
• Experience using SCORM-compliant authoring tools.
• Experience developing content within LMS such as Moodle or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs analysis with SMEs and stakeholders across NATO Nations, Partners and Entities.
• Define clear and measurable learning objectives aligned with course goals.
• Design course structures with modules, lessons, and assessments in logical flow.
• Develop instructional content from SME materials using ISD methodologies (storyboard-based or rapid development).
• Select and implement diverse instructional strategies for various learning styles.
• Design and implement pre-, formative, and summative assessments to gauge progress.
• Establish evaluation processes to measure course impact and effectiveness.
• Establish feedback mechanisms and refine content and delivery methods based on feedback.
• Engage with clients, SMEs, and team members to ensure timely communication and deliverables.
• Provide ISD assistance and ensure NATO materials comply with NATO standards.
• Prepare, facilitate, and evaluate instructor-led activities, including travel to NATO facilities (2-3 times/year).
• Represent the Learning Technology Section in meetings and workshops; monitor progress with stakeholders.
• Research and recommend emerging learning technologies and best practices to support innovation.
