Job summary

The School District of Lee County is seeking an Instructional Support staff member for Lexington Middle School in Fort Myers, Florida. The role focuses on assisting teachers, supporting students with individualized plans, and maintaining classroom and lab operations.

Responsibilities include supporting instructional delivery, organizing materials, and safeguarding student information. The position is full-time and based on campus operations, with duties in various learning spaces as needed.

Qualifications

• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
• Organizational and management skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and related privacy laws.
• Knowledge of industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
• Ability to respond professionally to customer needs and requests for service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instructional process with students individually or in small groups under supervision.
• Assist in preparation, organization and use of instructional aids and technology as directed.
• Reinforce positive learning and behavior with students.
• Help students develop study skills and meet instructional objectives.
• Support parental involvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Perform related clerical and recordkeeping duties as directed.
• Adhere to safety procedures.
• Provide lab/library/learning facility support as appropriate.
• Assist with IEP implementation where applicable.
• Act as translator if able and appropriate.
• Monitor student behavior in campus areas with staff.
• Assist with Medicaid administrative claims activities per SDAC guidelines.
