Job summary

The School District of Lee County is seeking an Instructional Support staff member for Pelican Elementary School in Cape Coral, FL. This role supports instructional delivery, assists with materials and technology, maintains student confidentiality, and helps implement IEPs under supervision.

Responsibilities include classroom support, clerical duties, and collaboration with teachers to reinforce learning, with opportunities to assist in a computer lab and participate in school safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with passing ParaPro exam.
• Or 60 credit hours or an Associate's degree.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree and 1 year related experience.
• Relevant work experience or education may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instructional process with students individually or in small groups.
• Assist in preparation and use of instructional aids and materials.
• Reinforce positive learning and behavior patterns.
• Support student study skills and achievement of objectives.
• Support parental involvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Perform related clerical and recordkeeping duties as directed.
• Provide computer lab/library support as appropriate.
• Assist with IEP implementation.
• Act as translator if able.
• Monitor student behavior in cafeteria and campus locations.
