NLCP in Chicago seeks an Assistant Principal to support the Principal in day-to-day operations and to serve as a strong second-in-command, focused on instructional excellence and a positive school culture.

You will lead data-informed practices, oversee curriculum, and collaborate with deans and teachers to raise scholar outcomes while ensuring equitable opportunities and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Education or related field
• 3–5 years of teaching experience in a public high school
• 3–5 years of managerial or supervisory leadership in a public high school
• Administrative or leadership experience in a school
• Visionary and strategic leadership
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to foster positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Uphold high standards of ethical and professional conduct

Responsibilities

• Engage staff: ensure deans, chairs and teachers feel cared for, heard and developed
• Record evidence of staff engagement across teams
• Monitor staff experiences to ensure equitable expectations and experiences
• Lead ILT meetings and oversee instructional leadership
• Oversee curriculum development and instructional strategies for diverse learners
• Coordinate with site testing coordinator for school-wide testing
• Assist in hiring instructional staff and College Team members
