Job summary

VCU Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) and LEDstudio seek an experienced Instructional Designer to translate faculty expertise and industry needs into high-quality, skills-based learning for adult and professional learners. You will collaborate with faculty, SMEs, and industry partners to design engaging courses, micro-credentials, and certificates across online, hybrid, and in-person formats.

This role supports growth of VCU CPE’s noncredit portfolio and partnerships, with eligibility

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, learning technologies, curriculum and instruction, adult learning, business, or related field.
• Minimum three years designing online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced learning experiences.
• Experience with LMS, educational technologies, and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Design engaging, accessible learning experiences for adult audiences across online, hybrid, and in-person formats.
• Translate content into modular, skills-based learning with measurable outcomes and activities.
• Collaborate with faculty, SMEs, and industry partners to align programs with learner and workforce needs.
• Build and maintain courses in Canvas and other learning technologies; ensure usability and accessibility.
• Manage multiple projects from scoping to revision with quality assurance on instructional alignment.
