Job summary

Aptara is seeking an Instructional Designer to create and update technical training and learning materials. You will develop PPT presentations, WBTs, student and facilitator guides, activities, scenarios and assessments, plus instructional graphics.

You will analyze existing content and align it with business processes for the target audience. The role requires strong ILT design skills, Storyline experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of instructional design experience.
• Strong ILT design skills and experience building WBTs with Storyline.
• Proficiency with MS Office and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and update technical training and learning materials.
• Create course content: PPTs, WBTs, guides, activities, and assessments.
• Analyze existing content and target audiences to align with business processes.
• Define objectives, structure, content and assessments for courses.
• Collaborate with SMEs in validation meetings and incorporate feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and update technical training.
• Develop learning materials, including course PPT presentations, WBTs, student and facilitator course guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, and interactions.
• Perform detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems.
• Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments.
• Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.
• Participate in meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings. Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback.

Requirements

• Must currently reside in Northern California
• Portfolio required
• Bachelor’s degree
• 4+ years of instructional designer experience
• Strong ILT design skills and experience building WBTs using Storyline.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (PPT, Word, Teams, etc.)
• Experience with technical writing skills
• Strong Task Analysis experience
