Job summary

Aptara in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our hybrid- onsite-as-needed team. You will design, develop and update technical training and learning materials for diverse audiences and complex systems.

You will lead the creation of course content, activities and assessments, using Storyline for interactive WBTs and leveraging MS Office for documentation. Close collaboration with SMEs will ensure clear facilitator notes and effective content

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of instructional design experience.
• Experience designing ILT and building WBTs with Storyline.
• Proficient in MS Office tools (PPT, Word, Teams).
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to create clear facilitator notes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and update technical training.
• Develop learning materials including presentation slides, WBTs, student and facilitator guides, activities, scenarios and assessments; create graphics, scenarios and interactions.
• Perform detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained for target audience, business process and systems.
• Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments.
• Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text for the target audience.
• Participate in SME meetings for task analysis, validation and feedback incorporation.

Job description

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid – onsite as needed)

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and update technical training.
• Develop learning materials, including course PPT presentations, WBTs, student and facilitator course guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, and interactions.
• Perform detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems.
• Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments.
• Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.
• Participate in meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings. Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback.

Requirements:

• Must currently reside in Northern California
• 4+ years of instructional designer experience
• Strong ILT design skills and experience building WBTs using Storyline.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (PPT, Word, Teams, etc.)
• Experience with technical writing skills
