Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking part-time Student Support Specialists for the Norristown After School Program. The role supports elementary and middle school students, including English Language Learners, with daily lessons and engaging activities after school.

The position requires a high school diploma; a Bachelor's degree is preferred, and clearances are required upon hire. Hours are three days per week, with afternoon shifts at multiple sites within the Norristown area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
• Experience working with bilingual/bicultural students preferred.
• Experience working with the applicable age group preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily lessons related to student needs.
• Provide an engaging environment designed to meet the needs of students.
• Implement behavior management strategies that are developmentally appropriate.
• Plan and implement a daily learning schedule that includes: physical movement, social and emotional learning, STEAM activities.
• Maintain student attendance and participation data.
