Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant to work with elementary school students in the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program in Phoenixville. The role requires supporting English Language Learners and providing academic support.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and experience with bilingual students. Responsibilities include assisting with educational program implementation and parent communication.

Hourly pay ranges from $19.38 to $23.19 depending on qualifications. The schedule is Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Experience working with bilingual/bicultural students preferred.
• Experience with elementary school age students preferred.
• Knowledge of computer and current technology required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementation of supplemental educational programs.
• Communicate with students' parents, teachers, and administrators as necessary.
• Facilitate parent involvement in education, providing translation as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required
• Experience working with bilingual/bicultural students preferred
• Experience working with the applicable age group preferred
• Computer and current technology knowledge required
• Must have Act 33 and 34 clearances and federal criminal history background check (available throughCCIU upon hire)
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and implementation of supplemental educational programs
• Assist with regular communication with participating students' parents, teachers, guidance counselorsand administrators, as necessary
• Assist with facilitation of the involvement of parents in the education of their children and in the dissemination of information, usingtranslation/interpretation services, as needed
• Assist with the planning and implementation of parent involvement activities within the 21st Century Community Learning Center program

Schedule:
Monday - Thursday
3:30pm - 6:30pm
No program on Fridays

Hourly Rate (2026-2027 School Year):

The IA pay scale is broken down below for you toreference.

• *Bachelor's degree isequivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $19.38
• *Master's degree isequivalent to 15 yrsexperience on the scale = $23.19
