Job summary

The Richardson School in Brookfield seeks an Instructional Aide to support students with developmental, behavioral, and educational needs. You will work under the classroom teacher, assist with academics, behavioral support, and daily care as needed.

Hours are 8am–4pm, Monday–Friday, during the regular school year with ESY and Bobcat Camp options. Pay rate is $20 per hour, with generous PTO, tuition assistance, health, dental, vision, disability, and 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
• At least one year of experience with special needs students preferred
• Eligible for Wisconsin DPI Instructional Aide license

Responsibilities

• Meets with classroom teacher and/or supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behavioral support, social and/or medical concerns related to the students.
• Completes and submits paperwork, instructional data, and behavior data in a timely fashion as scheduled per students assigned.
• Uses agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students after training.
• Demonstrates familiarity with behavior management and education techniques used at The Richardson School.
• Acts as a role model and sets an appropriate example for students, staff, and the community.
• Follows IEP guidance to implement students’ academic program under supervision and leadership.
• Engages students in active learning as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Provides support for all staff in the classroom and ensures Education Department policies are followed.
