Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of heavy framing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints accurately.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and tools.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work under time constraints.
• Solid math skills for on-site calculations.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide practical solutions.
• Familiarity with scheduling software Builder Trend, Build Pro and Supply Pro.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes jobsite prior to start to ensure quality construction.
• Reviews construction documents to determine material needs.
• Frames buildings according to blueprints.
• Create and maintain a safe on-site work environment.
• Coordinate with team to ensure material delivery and plan copies go to labor broker.
• Schedule deliveries per Construction Manager schedule and ensure timely arrivals.
• Ensure framing complies with OSHA, Carter Lumber, and site safety rules.
• Ensure timely project completion.

Job description

A Carter Lumber Installed Framing Field Supervisor will manage the framing process for single and multi-family homes according to blueprints and customers contracts. Knowledge of building materials, local building codes and proper installation techniques will be vital in this position’s success as well as, a strong commitment to customer service. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in heavy framing
• Ability to read blueprints
• Strong knowledge of building materials and tools
• Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work under time constraints
• Possess strong math skills
• Ability to follow directions both written and verbal
• Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problems
• Knowledgeable in scheduling programs such as Builder Trend, Build Pro, Supply Pro.

Responsibilities:

Construction:

• Analyzes jobsite prior to beginning of the job to ensure that quality construction can be done.
• Reviews construction documents and understands material needed to build.
• Frames buildings according to blueprint.
• Create and supports a safe work environment on the job site to protect the interest of the company at all times.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure that the material is delivered and that the labor broker receives a copy of the plans.
• Schedule the delivery according to the builder’s Construction Manager schedule and ensure that the material is delivered.
• Ensure that the laborers frame in compliance with OSHA, builders and Carter Lumber standards and rules, including cleanliness and safety.
• Ensures that the project is completed in a timely manner.

Customer Service:

• Ensures that customers are given the highest quality of workmanship.
• This is accomplished through timely completion of the job, attention to detail, following the company’s code of conduct and the ability to react to problems and complaints in a patient and understanding manner.

Knowledge & Training:

• Responsible for acquiring the training needed to build the product safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for becoming certified in the product/area that is being installed to ensure that we are providing the best service to our customers.
