Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Framing Field Supervisor to manage the framing process for single and multi-family homes per blueprints and contracts. Knowledge of building materials, local codes, and installation techniques, plus a strong customer-service ethos, are essential.

The role requires coordinating deliveries, supervising labor, ensuring OSHA compliance, and delivering quality workmanship on schedule with growth opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in heavy framing.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and tools.
• Following directions written and verbal.
• Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problems.
• Familiar with scheduling programs such as Builder Trend, Build Pro, Supply Pro.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes jobsite prior to beginning the job to ensure quality construction.
• Reviews construction documents and understands material needs to build.
• Frames buildings according to blueprint.
• Creates and sustains a safe work environment on the job site.
• Coordinates with the team to ensure material delivery and that the labor broker receives a copy of plans.
• Schedules delivery according to the Construction Manager's schedule and ensures material delivery.
• Ensures laborers frame in compliance with OSHA, Carter Lumber standards and rules, including safety and cleanliness.
• Ensures timely project completion.

A Carter Lumber Installed Framing Field Supervisorwill manage the framing process for single and multi-family homes according to blueprints and customers contracts. Knowledge of building materials, local building codes and proper installation techniques will be vital in this position’s success as well as, a strong commitment to customer service. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in heavy framing
• Ability to read blueprints
• Strong knowledge of building materials and tools
• Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work under time constraints
• Possess strong math skills
• Ability to follow directions both written and verbal
• Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problems
• Knowledgeable in scheduling programs such as Builder Trend, Build Pro, Supply Pro.

Responsibilities:

Construction:

• Ensure that the laborers frame in compliance with OSHA, builders and Carter Lumber standards and rules, including cleanliness and safety.
• Ensures that the project is completed in a timely manner.

Customer Service:

• Ensures that customers are given the highest quality of workmanship.
• This is accomplished through timely completion of the job, attention to detail, following the company's code of conduct and the ability to react to problems and complaints in a patient and understanding manner.

Knowledge & Training:

• Responsible for acquiring the training needed to build the product safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for becoming certified in the product/area that is being installed to ensure that we are providing the best service to our customers.
