Job summary

The Olympia School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for the middle school level to lead and supervise student-athletes in our soccer program. The role emphasizes education, safety, and sportsmanship, with responsibilities for practice planning and game participation.

Qualifications include prior coaching experience at middle school level or higher, solid communication with students, parents and staff, and current First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching at middle level or above.
• Ability to work with middle school athletes, parents, administration and community members.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification required prior to first practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership and organization for the assigned sport/activity as directed by the head coach and building athletic director.
• Provides direct ongoing supervision of all athletes and managers during practices, games, and events.
• Maintains knowledge of WIAA, state, league and district rules related to the sport/activity and student participation.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe condition, manage repairs as required.
• Report injuries within 24 hours using established forms and processes.
• Attend league meetings related to the sport/activity as directed.
