Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking a middle school athletic coach to develop fundamental skills, strategy, and fitness for student athletes. This role requires adherence to all district and WIAA policies and guidelines, plus strong communication with players and parents.

The coach will organize practices, monitor equipment, and maintain records while promoting safety, sportsmanship, and personal growth within a competitive program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of experience as an assistant coach.
• Must be at least 21 years old (WIAA).

Responsibilities

• Supervises student athletes and promotes safe participation.
• Plans and runs practices for 7th–8th grade four days/week and 6th grade two days/week.
• Maintains equipment, records, and injury reports with athletic director.
• Enforces district policies and safety guidelines.
