Job summary

DESERT SUNRISE HIGH SCHOOL in Maricopa, Arizona, is seeking a FR/SO Boys Basketball Coach to lead the program under the Athletic Director. This position carries a stipend per the district schedule and involves day-to-day duties as part of the athletic department.

The candidate must have coaching experience, be able to work flexible hours, and possess required certifications including First Aid/CPR and NFHS Concussion training, with AED knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching.
• Familiar with the care of athletic injuries.
• NFHS Coaches Course including Concussion Course; First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Arizona Department of Education certification required for head coaches.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for successful performance.
• Provide a positive learning environment for the athletes.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season in accordance with district policy and AIA regulations.
• Manage athlete behavior during training sessions and during meets or events.
• Maintain complete and accurate records as required (attendance forms, insurance records, file accident reports).
• Oversee safety conditions of the facility/area where the sport is conducted.
