Job summary

DESERT SUNRISE HIGH SCHOOL in Maricopa, Arizona is seeking a Head Baseball Coach to lead the athletic program. The role reports to the Athletic Director; starting date is immediate; terms include hours and stipend according to the current schedule.

Responsibilities include coaching participants, planning practices, maintaining records, ensuring safety, scheduling contests, managing equipment, and upholding district policies. Must meet district coaching certifications and NFHS courses.

Qualifications

• Coaches must complete NFHS Coaches Course including Concussion Course
• First Aid and CPR Certification
• Knowlege of State, Federal and School Board policies and regulations
• Possess a valid Driver Licence and maintain driving eligibility
• Familiar with care and treatment of athletic injuries
• Arizona Department of Education coaching certification required for head coaches

Responsibilities

• Coach individual participants in skills for successful performance
• Provide a positive learning environment for athletes
• Plan and schedule in-season practices per district policy and AIA regulations
• Manage athlete behavior during training and meets
• Schedule interscholastic contests and arrange equipment purchases as needed
• Maintain complete records (attendance, insurance, accident reports)
