Job summary

DESERT SUNRISE HIGH SCHOOL, part of Maricopa Unified School District #20, seeks an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach to lead student-athletes, plan practice schedules, and ensure safety and discipline during all activities. The role reports to the Athletic Director and emphasizes skill development and sportsmanship.

The position requires NFHS/Concussion training, First Aid/CPR, and a valid driver license, with stipend-based terms and a 12-month salary plan. ImmediateStarting Date requested.

Qualifications

• Expressed interest in athletics.
• Experience in coaching.
• Available to work during assigned hours.
• Knowledge of coaching techniques and human behavior.
• Familiar with the District's goals of an athletic program.
• Possess knowledge of state, federal and school policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for successful performance.
• Provide a positive learning environment for the athletes.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season in accordance with district policy and AIA regulations.
• Manage athlete behavior during training sessions and during meets or events.
• Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment and facilities.
• Assist the athletic director in scheduling interscholastic contests where applicable.
• Maintain complete records (attendance, insurance, accident reports).
• Oversee safety conditions of the facility during activities.
