Job summary

Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency is seeking a Substitute Instructional Assistant to support children in Head Start classrooms in Salem and nearby locations. You will foster inclusion in all activities and help provide meaningful learning experiences while building positive relationships with peers and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; ECE certificates boost candidacy.
• Level 1 or Level 2 ECE certificates within timeframes are expected.
• Experience in a Head Start classroom or preschool setting is preferred.
• Background checks, drug screening, and CPR/First Aid may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support assigned children with daily activities and routines.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group assistance as directed.
• Assist with indoor/outdoor activities, meals, and transitions.
• Promote inclusion and monitor interactions to address concerns.
• Cover multiple Head Start locations as needed.
